Sergey Vyazovich's crew successfully overcame the third stage of the rally Turkmen Desert Race. As a result, Belarusian racers rose to the second line in the overall standings.
The third special stage in the center of the Karakum Desert was 236 km long. Racers have overcome the sandy areas and dried up riverbeds. The Belarusians coped with this task without any difficulties: all three crews of the MAZ-SPORTauto team finished with a slight gap from the leader.
Sergei Vyazovich showed the second result at the stage. On the way, the truck burst the wheel and it took about 10 minutes to fix it. The winner was the racer of "KAMAZ-master" team Ayrat Mardeev, who won himself 10 minutes. In the general classification the fastest MAZ climbed to the second line with a gap from the leader in 11 minutes.
Alexei Vishnevsky's truck came fourth with a handicap in 17 minutes, letting forward Dmitry Sotnikov. In the "absolute" the Belarusian crew occupies the same place and lags behind Ayrat Mardeev is 32 minutes.
"The road was even worse than yesterday: a slow off-road, many sandy paths, high rises and descents, so we drove slowly," said Alexei Vishnevsky. - Approximately at the 70th kilometer, the stabilizer shaft broke - we had to stop, unscrew and tie the cylinder and then went to the finish line. "
Alexander Vasilevsky's crew was in fifth place, losing to the winner 19 minutes. In the overall standings, they enter the top five with a backlog of 58 minutes.
"On the road, we met small dunes and sandy areas of the fesh-fesh, although they are not as viscous as at Dakar rally. The danger was represented by the passage of marshes, since there were many stones. We slowed down the pace so as not to damage the truck and wheels, "said Alexander Vasilevsky.
